Stratton is the former attorney general of the state of New Mexico. He also served as chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and in the New Mexico House of Representatives for four terms. He was co-founder of the Rio Grande Foundation (New Mexico’s free market think tank), was named American Legislative Exchange Council’s Legislator of the Year in 1981 and the National Right to Work Committee’s Statesman of the Year in 1988. He now practices law in Albuquerque and Washington, DC.
